Important Updates!

Dear Edmonds Heights,

As 2012 starts to get some momentum I want to thank all our families for a great first half of the school year. We have had to adjust many of our practices, including more work for families and staff around the WSLP  and in person contact throughout each week. We have had a smaller budget, more requirements, fewer classes, and lots of other changes to absorb and respond to. The good news is that we have done all this well! WSLPs are looking better than ever, enrollment in classes and in the program is steady and encouraging, students and parents are engaged both in our campus community and in the partnership around student learning, and we are getting ready to start 2nd semester with style. Below is a lengthy but important list of updates and information about our program, please make your way through them and have a great day!

WSLP Face to Face Week

Face to Face week is almost here! All workshop, morning PE, ASL, and Latin classes will run as normal. All other classes are cancelled as those teachers will be leading WSLP meetings.

For your Face to Face meeting be ready to review all submitted credits (or ready to learn how to submit them!), review your 2nd semester plan in Vesta (please have it ready to go if not submitted), report which assessment your student will complete to fulfill the annual requirement, have January progress submitted for approval, and then come with any other questions you have for your advisor.

Updated Allegro Schedule

Due to snow and school closures Allegro, the Musical Theater 1 production, has a modified performance schedule. The following is an updated list of shows:

Jan. 21, 22 - Shows cancelled Cry
Jan. 27, Friday - Show as usual (7pm)
Jan. 28, Saturday - Matinee and evening shows as usual
Jan. 29, Sunday - Added show at 2:00pm

2nd Semester WSLP Plans

You can now start working on 2nd Semester WSLP Plans for your student(s). They are due before you meet with your WSLP Advisor for your Face to Face meeting. There is one bug right now that is preventing folks from saving changes to NEW year long classes that are being added to 2nd semester, this will get fixed soon. In the mean time work on the rest of the plan ahead of your Face to Face meeting. Thanks!

Special Education Conference Note

A note about the advertised Special Education Conference. This conference is advertised for teachers but we confirmed parents will also attend and we encourage any parent looking for additional strategies in working with their students to check it out and see if it would be a good fit.
